COURSE DETAILS

The learners most likely to undertake RII30719 – Certificate III in Emergency Response and Rescue are those working in or seeking a role of response and rescue team members who work in a mine site or a construction site, who perform tasks involving a broad range of skilled applications applied in a wide variety of contexts, which may involve the application of some discretion and judgement in selecting equipment, services or contingency measures.

A typical learner will be someone working or with previous work history in Mining and/or Emergency services sectors.

  • PUASAR022 – Participate in rescue operation
  • PUAFIR210 – Prevent injury
  • PUAFIR207 – Operate breathing apparatus open circuit
  • RIIERR201E – Conduct fire team operations
  • PUASAR032 – Undertake vertical rescue
  • PUASAR0225 – Undertake confined space rescue
  • PUAFIR306 – Identify, detect & monitor hazardous materials
  • PUAFIR324 – Render hazardous materials incidents safe
  • PMAWHS211 – Prepare equipment for emergency response

If you are at a workplace where there are tunnels (such as an underground mine), then the following units must be completed in addition to the above.

  • RIIERR309E- Conduct underground search
  • RIIERR307E- Extricate casualties from underground incident
  • RIIERR303E – Operate in self-contained BA (BG4)
  • RIIERR309D- Establish and operate from fresh air base
  • PUAQUE001- Prepare maintain test response equipment
